Dianysia: "In a little pain here," Dia says.
Dianysia: "Anyone else?"
Deladriel: "I appear to have lost my arm"
Deladriel chuckles a bit..."May need heal here"
Candace: "Let me see what I can do here, luv, but I'm about tapped out."
Dianysia: E - How's the assassin looking?"
Deladriel: "We put you back in box and throw it until you pop out again new spells" Del says before sticking out her tongue
DM: The half-orc (Gell) comes up to Del, nodding at her. "Me can heal if need. How hurt you?"
Candace: "Right then, wasn't sure who to patch up first. She's got priority now, kitten. You can take what's left."
Deladriel recoils slightly at the sight of an orc so close to her..."I hurt some...
Candace takes a moment to offer up a prayer to Ascar, before sending a wave of healing energies into Dia.
Dianysia: "Thanks... feeling brilliant now, luv," she replies, before noting the change in her speech pattern. "Er.. thanks..."
DM: Gell: "Me can help some. Not that much." Gell gently peers at Del's wounds, placing a hand over the worst of them and concentrating for a minute, as you feel the flesh re-knit under his hands
Dianysia moves to check on the out-like a-a-lightbulb assasin.
Candace: "Right then... Now you can get some, kitten." Candace repeats the prayer, trying to salve some more of Del's wounds.
DM: The assassin is breathing steadily, not even bleeding any significant amount... she's clearly hurt, but it's obvious that even without any further ministrations, she'll be fine as long as she gets enough to eat.
Dianysia: "Uncanny how much she does look like Beth," Dia adds, moving back to the rest of the party
Candace: "Hm. I can do that once more, but then I'm done fer the day." Candace repeats the performance, spending the last of her healing energies on Del.
Dianysia: "You look a bit wiped. You okay, Candace?"
Candace: "Me? Oh I'm just peachy... who WOULDN'T be after a couple dips into a wall of bloody FIRE?"
Dianysia: "Well, technically the fire wasn't bloody.. .oh...Sorry..."
Candace: "And on top of that, I've got a killer headache comin on..."
Dianysia: "Bye..."
Candace: "Huh?"
Candace vanishes
DM: Gell just looks at the strange object where Candace was just standing. "What you do to lady?"
Dianysia: "Well, nice to meet you Mister Orc. My name is Dia and you are?" me looks at him a moment... "She went back into her box."
Gell scratches his head. "Box? Me confused. Me name Gell. Good meet you."
Dianysia: "Well.. she lves in that box, kind of. Actually, I don't know if she stays in there or if she's just teleported here or what. Just out of curiosity... where are you from?"
Gell: "Me from..." Gell stops. "Me can't remember. Strange."
Deladriel: "Think we need camp for night. I go check upstairs, see if position defensible"
Deladriel heads up the ramp
Dianysia: "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you Gell of somewhere. That was a nifty trick. I'm not used to seeing healing fighters."
DM: at the top of the ramp, you're faced with a straight corridor that runs north-south the entire width of the tower... at the end, you can see a pathway continuing around to the right, in what looks like are probably more stairs leading upwards... lining the corridor at regular intervals are double-section doors (top & bottom swing independentaly, it would appear)... and I need an awareness as well
DM: the four doors at the center of the hallway appear to be of slightly different construction... and you hear movement coming from the second one down on your right (west side)
Deladriel shifts to bird
Deladriel flys back down the ramp, and back outside the tower to see if there could be a window on the second level
DM: no windows
DM: there appear to be NO openings on the tower other than at the bottom floor
Deladriel flys up to check the roof as well
DM: after a little bit of circling to gain altitude... the only feature on the roof appears to be a trapdoor of the same obsidian construction, and metal hinges
DM: there's not even any sort of "edge" to the rooftop, no crenelations, or anything
Deladriel flys back down to the others
Deladriel shifts to Elf form and relays the intel she just discovered to the party
Dianysia: "Interesting... so what's the trap door for?"
Gell: "So what make noise then?"
Gell: "I go check?"
Deladriel looks at everyone with a confused look..."Why not you go find out?"
Gell: "Okay!" Gell starts heading up the ramp
Deladriel follows in cat form
Dianysia: "Uhm... and our assassin?
Gell: "You watch roped lady."
Gell: "We find what make noise."
Gell resumes his trip up the rampway
Dianysia: "Fine... mutters about adding "babysitter" to her list of duties within the party.
Deladriel resumes her followage
Gell: At the top of the ramp, Gell turns to Del. "You strange elf, become cat. Which door making noise?"
Deladriel moves to the door that she heard the noises from
Gell shrugs, readies his mace, and stalks forward, yanking open the door...
Gell: ...only to laugh. "You silly elf. Get spooked by horse. See?" Gell points inside.
Deladriel shifts to elf only to shrug..."Who say anything about 'spook'?"
Gell: "Get it? Horse normally spook. Now horse spook elf!" Gell breaks down into uncontrolled laughing.
Deladriel shakes her head..."No wonder elf take over the world"
Deladriel resumes her search of the upstairs
Gell: "Oooohh... me no feel so good..."
Deladriel waves goodbye to Gell
Gell poofs.
Deladriel sighs..."Orcs"
DM: there's one minor detail about the horse that rather quickly catches your eye... it's standing about 3 inches off the ground
Deladriel approaches the horse to verify if it would shy from her
DM: the horse is looking at you with wide eyes, but isn't making any motion to pull away...
Deladriel: gently strokes the horses snout for a few moments to calm it...then lightly taps it's front leg forward to indicate that she wishes to inspect the bottom of it's foot
DM: after a little bit spent w/ the horse, you get it to respond to show you... the foot is shod, there's no stones lodged in the hoof, it appears well cared for...
Deladriel: Saddle nearby?
DM: not in this stall... and it's quite obvious that this is indeed a stall that you're standing in... which then makes the double-doors make a lot more sense
Deladriel: ok...I will specifically search the other rooms for a saddle for now
DM: oh... minor detail I've left out... light source... some of the stones in the walls of the rooms, near the ceilings, are glowing with a cool white light...
DM: they're spaced roughly every 20 feet or so, minimum 1 per wall of at least 10 ft. length
DM: so even without windows, there's plenty of light to see by
DM: okay... the nearest doors all lead into empty stalls... remnants of straw on the floors, but nothing else
Deladriel: I will keep searching until I find something of note
DM: okay... when you get to the center of the hallway, you get close enough to see what's different about these doors... while they were obviously built double like the others, they've since been permanently solidified... and when you open the first one (NW of the 4 center doors), you can see that it's because the stall has been converted into a storeroom of sorts... still empty, but the NE one is not... it has full riding gear for a horse
Deladriel: excellent...I will now take the time to prepare the horse for mounting
Deladriel: After the horse is prepared, I will walk it down the ramp...particularly noting the amount of noise it's hooves make while walking
DM: the horse's steps make a noise consistent with walking... but NOT consistent with horseshoes on stone... it's more akin to the sound made by an unshod hoof on soft ground
Deladriel comes walking down the ramp guiding a black horse that appears to be hovering above the ground. "Remember I tell you about horse that leave no tracks?"
Dianysia: "Sort of..."
Deladriel: "Can you figure out what cause horse to float?"
Dianysia: "I can try."
Dianysia: "I'd guess magic, though, at first glance."
Dianysia spends a few minutes preparing a couple spells. After doing so, she casts detect magic .
Dianysia: after studying the horse, she looks over at the two firends...
Dianysia moves over to the dead girl trying to figure out the aura.
Dianysia takes the crystal spear she was carrying and tosses it to the side, before studying her further.
Dianysia then proceeds to The assassin
DM: aaand... it's starting to get late at the lovely black tower... slipping on towards sunset... say an hour has passed since sue went splat
Dianysia: "Well, here's the deal... The horse wears shoes with levitation abilities... the splatty one has magical, protective armor, some wands, and a kickass crystal thingy of uber level. And the Assassin has armor with a magical protection spell, speed enhancement and something so she doesn't get hurt with in a certain distance of falling."
Dianysia: "Can you use either of the armors, Del?"
Deladriel: "I figure as much...I must rest to pray for more spells in the morning...I think we should camp in tower"
Dianysia looks at Del. Well, let's get these girls in there, along with our pets, and have a look around... it's getting dark and we don't wantt o be caught out here where we can be surprised."
Deladriel starts to haul the assassin onto the horse's back..."Help please"
Dianysia attempts to help.
DM: and fails, miserably.
Deladriel says "Screw it" and begins dragging the assassin
Dianysia helps drag in Sue in.
DM: Sue is a bit boneless, and thus drags quite easily
DM: if a little strechily
Dianysia fetches the crystal thingy and brings her entourage in as well.
Dianysia: "So, anything interesting upstairs? Other than the horse, of course. And the dissappearing orc, Gell?"
Dianysia casts another Detect Magic
Deladriel: "Those lights" del indicates the lights in the ceiling. "They dimmer now than before"
Dianysia: "That's too bad. May not make the night then. So, do you think we should shore up in this room to make it until morning?"
Deladriel: "In this room? No." del begins heading up one more level
Dianysia will stable my animals as well, if possible.
DM: kk, there's no straw or anything for the floors, but the animals can each get their own stall
DM: so... 3rd floor... you go up a 1/4 turn around the outside wall this time, rather than a full 1/2 turn... and you're faced with a similar 10-foot wide corridor the width of the tower, similar glowstones lining the walls, and what appears to be more stairs leading up at the far end...
DM: one question tho, what're you doing w/ the assassin? still dragging her along, or is she left down on the stables level?
Deladriel: Search the rooms
Deladriel: of course I'm still dragging her!
Dianysia: "We need to find something nicer to do with that woman..."
DM: okay... you discover that this hallway has 24 doors, 12 on either side
DM: opening each one in turn, you discover different layouts, but all have roughly equal floor space, small rooms like you'd find in an inn
Deladriel: nothing lockable?
DM: only two have anything inside them, besides plain cots
DM: the doors do not lock, no
DM: the two rooms closest to the head of the stairs have equipment inside them... rations, changes of clothing, etc... obviously it's where the two were staying...
DM: one of the rooms has nothing other than a small cracked crystal and the pack with clothing & food
DM: the other room has a pack with similar clothing & food... and a pair of saddlebags, one with a climbing harness and assorted gear (climber's kit from PHB)... and a rope made of something that just reeks to high heaven
