Dianysia: D- "Beth...What schedules do the patrols keep? I mean, how long do we have to rest? What kind of watches would you recommend?
Dianysia: D- "I'm more concerned with how long it is safe to stay in one spot? I need at least 8 hours of rest."
Dianysia: D- "Okay. So, what kind of rest do you need? I am trying to determine watches, length and order."
Dianysia: D- "No, I'm very organized about keeping my ass safe in a new land "
Dianysia: In common, "You guys, should we trust her to keep a watch by herself? She can slit our throats in our sleep. No offense."
Jefferson Harco:
Jefferson Harco: ok so im taking first watch ok?
Dianysia: Okay, well, I'll take last watch. I'm fairly useless if my sleep is interrupted."
Jefferson Harco: ill just watch until u wake up
Dianysia smiles. "Don't say that... you'd be stuck staying up all night,"
DM: alright... you spot nothing during the first part of your watch... around midnight... moon is about quarter full, getting fuller...
DM: you catch the glint of metal moving off in the distance somewhat... and off near the horizon, a bright light appears in the sky for maybe a minute, drifting down slowly before burning out
Jefferson Harco: does it look like they are trying to find something?
Jefferson Harco: i just keep an eye out in that direction
DM: after the light burns out, you don't see anything in that direction
DM: getting predawn light now...
Jefferson Harco: ill let Dia sleep until she wakes up, or in 2 hours whichever happens first
DM: okay... sundown was around 8, figure asleep by 9... so Dia would be be waking up around now
Dianysia: "So, Jeff... why don't you hit the hay for a while."
Jefferson Harco: yeah ok I'll take a little breather
DM: Jeff is curled up, gone to sleep, Dia, what're you doing at this point? sky's just starting to get light
Dianysia: BTW, Jayde is with me, by my side... I need to work with her a little anyways.... and I do a little reading/journalling.
Jefferson Harco: zzzzzzz
DM: okay... so you've just sat down to look at your books when Jayde's ears pop up, and she starts to growl softly in her throat
Dianysia: I try to figure out what's got her disturbed...Whispers "What is it girl?" while petting it gently
DM: when you look around, you're faced with a hobgoblin dressed in the most outlandish trews and jacket, all over splotches of green and brown, and a strangely-cut cap made of the same fabric... he's holding his hands out wide to show they're empty, a big grin on his face. He speaks up in the same strange dialect that Beth was speaking, which you can more or less make out at this point as "nice dog"
Dianysia grabs her light crossbow. "What you want?"
Dianysia waits patiently for an answer, her hair falling slightly forward to hide her ears.
Bob grins wider, shrugging before reaching slowly behind his back, pulling out a strangely shaped glass bottle from a half-seen pack, with some strange metal lid on top. "Just want to say hi, maybe share a drink"
Dianysia aims carefully at him. "Keep your hands where I can see them." Dia backs slowly, nudges Jeff, trying to wake him."
Bob shrugs, twisting the odd piece of metal on top of the bottle and producing a short "ksshhhh" sound, before dropping the piece of metal to the ground, and taking a swig of the bottle's contents, before gesturing with it to Dia. "Sure you don't want some?"
Dianysia: "I don't know what that is.
Jefferson Harco: what whats going on here?
Dianysia calls a LITTLE louder. "
Dianysia: "Move slowly... we've a visitor."
Bob turns to grin at Jeff, after he speaks. "Just being friendly. You want a drink? You're looking quite parched, son."
Jefferson Harco: I'm fine...what are you doing here?
Bob shrugs, taking another long pull on his bottle. "Suit yourself."
Jefferson Harco: im standing up now
Dianysia: "He just appeared... Jayde noticed him... he's going around asking if we want some of his 'drink'."
Bob: "And I'd ask about yours, save that us 'lessers' as they'd like to think us don't often wander out into the badlands here unless we can't stand their regime. What's your story, sweetheart?" ((DM note - anything above a 3-year-old vocab level that Bob says, Dia & Jeff don't catch that word, but you catch the drift none the less))
Dianysia: "
Bob: "Battle grounds. Where the orcs come to play at war."
Bob takes another long drink. "Where you from anyhow, don't know a thing like that?"
Bethany: Continues to unzip the tent, and climbs out, her hair a mess, but otherwise she looks ready for the day, and throws on her jacket, "I am a sculptor, was hired by the Church, and they wanted me to take a trip to do work for one of the other churchs."
Dianysia watches Jayde for any additional reaction to the intruder.
Bob laughs loudly. "Right. Which explains why you're hoofin' it across the battlegrounds, instead of takin the boat and going through customs? I think not. Don't let the outfit fool you, honey. I've been fighting them dogs plenty long enough to know when someone's running from 'em."
Jefferson Harco: so whats going on here....
Dianysia: "Just listen for now, Jeff.... It might be to our advantage to know with whom we travel."
Jefferson Harco: k
Bob grins wider, shrugging. "Suit yourself." Bob takes another long pull on his drink, close to finishing it off. "But y'all never answered the other question. Where are you others from, that you don't know about the badlands? And y'all sure I can't offer you a drink? Last one I liberated from a supply convoy a little while ago, don't know when we'll see any more."
Jefferson Harco: if you have some rations on hand i wouldn't mind, im more hungry than parched....
Dianysia whispers, "come" to Jayde, then moves to take the drink. "I'll try it."
Bob: "That's the spirit, sister." Bob offers the bottle to Dia, before grinning at Jeff. "Oh, I think we can rustle you up some grub when we get where we're going."
Dianysia takes the bottle and takes a sip, remaining quiet about his latter comment.
Bob grins wider. "Oh hey now, don't think of it that way. Just think of it as coming over to my place for breakfast."
Jefferson Harco: how far is your place?
Bethany: "I'm only a couple of days from the coast, so I would rather of breakfast there then at your place," Bethany says, "Unless of course you have a way across that does not involve a combonation of lucks, prayer, and paddling."
Dianysia: "Actually, this is kinda good... not good enough to trust you though... I'd rather not take a trip to your place... nothing personal..."
Bob grins, winking at Beth. "Ah, see, afraid I have to insist. You really MUST come visit. Not more than a couple miles from here."
Dianysia takes another swig, obviously enjoying the drink, but not enough to distract herself. D- "I'd feel better taking my chances... my stakes are higher."
Jefferson Harco: I've stuck with Dia this whole time, so Im going to stay with her now
Dianysia finishes off the drink.
Bob takes the empty boggle back from Dia, before setting it prominently on a rock at the edge of camp, relaxing quite a bit now. "Nah, all we got is captured orc rations. Still, the lasagna soup's not half bad."
Jefferson Harco: hmm...im pretty hungry, how bad do they taste..
Bob chuckles. "You'll know soon, son." Bob then turns back to Beth. "And I get the feeling you're a little more together than these two, but just so none of you try anything cute..." Bob's tone of voice changes, losing all the friendly overtones suddenly as he speaks to empty air. "Reese. The bottle, one round."
Reese: Reese shifts her aim from Dianysia and focuses on the bottle, then taking a deep breath, and letting it out slowly, she flips the switch on her rifle to semi-automatic, and squeezes the trigger. The rifle kicks back into her shoulder slightly, as a single load 'pop' sounds, and the battle shatters.
Jefferson Harco: who are you talking too?
Jefferson Harco: i look to see if i can see anyone else
Dianysia: "His so-called friends. Ten-to-one we're surrounded. Let me guess... you're friend was making sure you were okay... especially given that I'm aiming at you?"
Dianysia: "So, where's your place again?"
Bob grins, shrugging. "Just say if you had something worse than that old thing, you might not be standing still."
Bob: "And as soon as Ms. Artiste gets her things together, I'll take you there."
Jefferson Harco walks up so that he his about 2 feet away from Bob....
Dianysia: "Picking on a girl... great accomplishment. Did you expect a friendly reception? Mind if I get my things as well? Puppy gets annoyed when I leave things lying around."
Jefferson Harco: Lead the way
Dianysia without waiting for an answer, Dia gathers her stuff, placing them in their appropriate containers.
Bob laughs. "Sweetheart, maybe if you talked a normal language, I'd understand the insults you're tryin to fling my way." ((don't forget - 3 year-old comprehension level)) "For now though, get your things, and let's go."
Dianysia: "Stop with the sweetheart. I'm not sweet and that ain't my name."
Bob: As the activity in the camp is going on, Bob reaches up to some strange little box on his shoulder, turning to speak into it softly in orcish (if any of you understand it): O - "Reese. Keep eyes on these three, something's different. Hang back, I'll lead 'em in, once we're back in camp you can stop surveilance. If you see any orc sign, call it out fast, I don't want to get into a firefight with these birds in tow."
Jefferson Harco: What is that your talking into
Jefferson Harco: What does it do?
Bob cocks his head at Jeff. "You never seen a radio before, son?"
Dianysia: "Jeff... no questions... our lives may well depend on it,,,"
Jefferson Harco: gotcha mouth shut.
Dianysia: D - "I never ran from a fight, and good at starting them... just aslk Jeff sometime."
Bob: O - "Don't you worry none about who we are, toots. You'll see soon enough."
Bob looks around. "Everybody all set? We ain't coming back."
Bob: O - "Sure thing, sugar. No need to get bent out of shape over it."
Dianysia: D - "So, what? You get freedom by turning in anyone who's different? A bonus? Extra rations?"
Jefferson Harco: Lets head out....
Bob: "Right then, off we go!" Bob sets off in the lead, setting a brisk pace through the underbrush, looking back every so often to make sure everyone is following fine. "We'll be there before you know it."
Jefferson Harco is keeping up very easy with Bob
Reese: Reese looks up from her scope and sets off just behind them, keeping her rifle ready as she follows the group, keeping hidden.
Dianysia: D - "And we know you didn't turn us in how? He seems pleased with you,"
Dianysia walks a normal pace, OBVIOUSLY ignoring the prick in lead.
Dianysia: D- "Yeah, captured... that's really helpful...As I said... stakes are higher for us... hope you can live with yourself."
Dianysia: "If you're dragging us anyways... got more Cola?"
Dianysia: D - "Not if used properly, it's not. And it sure as hell doesn't make all the raquet of your obnoxious little toy."
Bob: "Told you before, sweet thing, that was the last one fell off the truck. Who knows when we'll see any more."
Dianysia: "You have problems, you know that?"
Dianysia: D - "Rounds?"
Bob shrugs. "Don't we all? Mine just have grey skin."
Bob: "Hey, you'll wanna be carefuly with that, precious. Ammo is more precious than gold around here. We run into a patrol, you'll want every round."
Dianysia looks at the 'round', clearly unimpressed. "So, you throw metal things at people really loudly and quickly? Nice society."
Dianysia: "Hey, you got a name, obnoxious one?"
Bob shrugs. "Suit yourself. Church is ground under by the orcs same as everybody else though, so you ask me they ain't got anything up on a good solid piece of lead. Orc won't get up too soon after you put one of those through his head."
Bob: "Don't know what obby-whatsit means... but you can call me Bob."
Bob just grins and winks at
Dianysia: "How much longer?" Dia asks, still dragging her feet.
Bob: "Not long now. Sooner if you'd keep a good pace. I saw you go faster earlier, so I know you can do it."
Dianysia: "Not over long distances, which this qualifies as, so unless you pllan on carrying me, I can't go that much faster."
Bob laughs. "Sorry sister, I don't do rides, unless you're a dead orc with gear I need. No worries though, we're just over the next ridge."
Bob: O - "Don't worry, I'll get to your story later. For now, let's just get back and get some grub."
Dianysia looks positively green at the thought of him carrying her. She hadn't meant it literally.
Dianysia follows a little quicker and much more quietly.
DM: As you come up over the ridge, you can see down into the valley below, what appears to be completely unremarkable... save for an odd shadow half-way down one of the sides... Bob leads you unerringly toward that, before bowing slightly and gesturing to the cave entrance that is practically invisible until you're right on top of it. "Ladies, welcome to my home. I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask for your sidearms though, since some of my people are bound to be a little jumpy."
Dianysia watches what Beth does.
Bob takes the pistol, stashing it into his pack without even seriously looking, and grins at Beth. "Anything else? You pull a weapon in there of any sort, and they're likely to shoot first ask questions later."
Dianysia hands over her light crossbow.
Bob pulls the bolt out of the groove, dry-firing the bow to remove tension before storing it away in the pack as well.
Reese: Pushing between Bethany and Dianysia, a fairly short human wearing pants that have the same green and brown pattern as the hobgoblin, although her top is black, with a green and brown pattern jacket over it. Over the jacket is a vest which is covered in little fist sized round metal things, six to be precise, full pockets, and long pouchs with metal boxs in them. Handing by her side is a strange weapon like the rifle on the hobgoblins back, and in Reese's hands, and on her belt is a psitol like
Bob: "Oh hey now, Reese, stop and introduce yourself to our guests."
Reese: Turns around and looks at the man in metal, and the two woman, then says in Orcish, "Something wrong with the pale one..." then in common, "I am Reese, do not screw around, you already killed a friend of mine."
Bob: "Now don't be hasty Reese, we don't KNOW they had anything to do with it. That's what we gotta find out."
Tristanu: "Anything to do with what?"
Bob: "C'mon inside, get some grub down, then we'll talk business. I just gotta have your pig-sticker there first, so's my friends don't get too anxious about you." Bob points to Tristanu's sword for emphasis.
Reese: "Ahh let him keep it, worse comes to worse we get some target practice in before he actually does any harm."
Tristanu: "This sword carries a symbol of my faith...depriving me of it would be like taking my very soul"
Dianysia: "WHy not just have your friends keep your weapons trained on him as you have this whole time and let him keep his toy?"
Reese: "In that case, take it..." Reese says, then adding in Orcish, "Damn faithful, always working to annoy the shit out of me."
Tristanu: "But you are free to take my bow" *Hands over long bow*
Bob takes the bow, leaning it up against the wall. "I respect that, I really do. And to answer the doll's question, I ain't gonna take anybody's weapons away when there's orcs on the prowl - they're just plain mean. But now you're in my house, and I'm afraid I can't let you in with a weapon. It's for your own good, you know."
Tristanu: "May you keep it in my plain sight?"
Reese: "Although... watching him take an orc in theater armor, and with a sword is mean in its own right..."
Bob: O - "Well hell Reese, if he wants to wander around pretending to be a tank, I say let him play with the tools he chooses."
Dianysia glares. "Not doll, you piece of... What are you so afraid we'll do?"
Bob: "That I can do, although you'll understand if I keep it out of reach. Like I said, some of my people in here get a mite bit jumpy if they see a weapon."
Reese: O- "Hey, didn't say it was wrong. Everyone needs to feel like a knight in shining armor at some point. Never thought someone would take it so literally though."
Dianysia: "Fine, leave us out here and we'd be more than willing not to upset your friends... in fact... I thoguht that was what we were doing originally?"
Reese: "Look sweet stuff," Reese says trying to hold back a slight grin, "If you don't come in, I get to shoot you. You choose."
Bob: "Ah, but see, I can't really do that. I care too much. If I didn't invite you in as guests, then some of the others would find more inventive ways to find out about Kam... like Reese here, for example."
Tristanu moves in front of Dian. "That would be a VERY bad move"
Reese: O- "Ahh that is so sweet... he is willing to die first..."
Tristanu Casts a glance at
Bob: "Aww hey now, son. Ease down, nobody's talking anything but breakfast here. Just lemme grab your blade, and we'll go get some grub, and have a nice civilized talk."
Dianysia: "Honey, I understand that between the two of you there isn't half a brain, but we haven't done anything to you and we are less armed... how do we know that you don't plan to shoot on entrance anyways?
Reese: "Half a brain? You know lass, you need to learn a little politness," Reese says drawing her pistol and holding it at her side, although not raising it.
Bob: "Because if we'd wanted you dead, there'd be a lot easier ways than dragging you back here, leaving a trail a skilled tracker might stumble across and follow here, I might add, just to ambush you now. Put a grenade in your camp before you saw me, that would've done the job quite easily, thank you."
Bob: "Oh, hey now Reese, put the hardware away. We're all friends still."
Dianysia moves past Tristanu, deliberately shouldering past Reese.
Dianysia: Jayde follows in.
Tristanu: "That will last as long as the respect holds up...one more verbal attack on Dianysia...and you may find yourself without a brain, or a head for it to fit in, for that matter"
Reese: "Bad trade in my opinion, I'm going to go wrestle the last lasgnia away from which over goblin has," she says, glaring slightly at Dianysia holding her pistol towards her, and makes a motion with her hand as if she fired, and smiles, then looks over at Tristanu rolling her eyes, and then disappears into the caves.
Bob: "Don't mind her, son. She's just worried about Kam, is all. Now what say you hand over that steel so we can chow down?"
Dianysia smiles in amusement. "Feel better Reese?"
Tristanu hands over the sword and adds "I am serious...I am her protector...and will gladly die for her...but not before taking somebody with me"
Bob: "I understand that, son, more than you may know. I feel the same about the people here. That's why I needed these." Bob pats the weapons softly before gathering them up and gesturing forward. "C'mon now, breakfast is on me."
Tristanu follows
DM: okay, heading into the cave network... the passage goes forward a little bit, takes a few bends, before opening up into a large cavern, easily several hundred feet deep, and a good 15-20 feet tall in the center. The whole space is lit by strange devices on metal poles set around the edge, shining a very bright light onto the ceiling, without any of the flickering you would expect from firelight. ((halogen worklights pointed at the ceiling)) This keeps the room pleasantly bright without straining the eyes.
DM: several passages lead off on the sides and back, and in the center of the room is set up a collection of trestle tables, and an odd table-looking something-or-other with pots placed on top ((propane stove)). Scattered around the room are various humans, hobgoblins, and bugbears, and even a few goblins. Most of them are at the tables, eating out of strangely-shaped pouches made out of a material you don't recognize ((MREs - plastic pouches used as dishes))
DM: people are watching warily, but they're still going about their business while they do so
DM: most of the attention is centering around Tristanu - NONE of them have ever seen someone actually WEARING plate armor before
Reese: Reese walks up to one of the humans just opening his pouch, dropping another in front of him, and taking his, saying "You like chicken better anyways," in orcish before sitting down at the end of the table. Most of her gear is gone, but she is still wearing her pistol, and her 'smaller' rifle is stay handing down.
Dianysia waits for Tristanu to approach, falling in slightly behind him and to his right.
Dianysia: "And she was commenting on OUR manners," Dia whispers under her breath.
Tristanu whispers back "I feel like a Dragon that accidentally stumbled into a dragonslayers meeting"
Dianysia: "Oh, get over it people... man wearing armor... new experience... get over it.:
Reese: O- "Bob can you at least feed them so they wont interupt our meal."
Bob sets the weapons off to one side, in a strange chest, holding out the sword as promised and setting it on top, before gesturing towards the tables. "C'mon, kids. I know it's not the best tasting, but we've got plenty of food. Just grab a pouch and dig in. We'll talk after." Bob suits actions to words, rooting around through the chest by the device with pots before pulling out a pouch, then tearing it open and dumping the contents out, opening a smaller pouch inside and pouring it back in, only to upend one of the pots with boiling water over the pouch.
Dianysia: "Why don't you shut your mouth, Beth? As far as we know, you could be part of this group."
Tristanu attempts to follow suit to Bob's actions...making sure to ask Bob to help him if he misses a step
Dianysia follows suit, but doesn't start eating.
Dianysia: "Do you have anything for Jayde?"
Bob looks up from his pouch, shrugging. "Some of that would work for it, sure. Just find something with plenty of meat."
Tristanu removes his helm allowing the long, silver hair drop from it's confinement, and begins to eat
Dianysia prepares one for Jayde, hoping that she got one with plenty of meat.
DM: as Tristanu reveals his hair, several of the people around the room make small noises of astonishment, and the overall hum of conversation picks up a notch
Bob looks up at Trist & raises an eyebrow. "You really ain't from around here, are you son? No way the orcs'd let you live if you were."
Tristanu notices the change in atmosphere. "I was afraid of that." And continues eating, making sure to allow quick access to his boot dagger.
Tristanu: "It seems THAT would depend on your version of 'around here'"
Dianysia watches the reactions carefully, her ears still "conveniently" covered and pointless... for the moment.
Dianysia: "I stand corrected... he has at least half a brain."
Tristanu: "29..why?"
Bob chuckles, nodding. "True enough, pal. I guess we'll get to that in a little bit, won't we? For now, let's just eat up, no sense in doing things on an empty stomach, eh?" Bob suits actions to words, digging in to his food with a will.
Tristanu nods
DM: okay... so finish eating, Bob directs people where to drop the pouches when you're done ((trash can)), and gets rid of the extraneous people in the room, leaving three people to sit w/ the rest of you - Bob, Reese, and an unnamed goblin male.
Tristanu: "Who is this?" *Points to said goblin*
Reese: Reese moves over to the table with the rest of them, reaching across the table and grabbing
Bob: "I was just getting to introductions. That's the most important part of making new friends, after all. Folks, this is Tal. You've already met Reese briefly, and of course I'm Bob. Reese, sit down and stop being a pain. As you might have guessed, we're not exactly friendly with the authorities around here. So, we're out here in the badlands just trying to stay alive a little longer. So how about giving me the short version of all y'all's stories?"
Reese: Reese removes her watchcap, revealing her short black hair, obviously in need of cleaning, and drops the watchcap on the table in front of her.
Dianysia: "All this and you can't afford soap?"
Tristanu motions for Dian to stop being counter-productive
Tristanu: "I will gladly tell you of ourselves. But first, I need you to be aware that you likely will not believe a bit of it"
Reese: "We've been in the field for the past week, which was wasted thanks to you guys."
Dianysia: "Always glad to help."
Bob: O - "Reese, shut up for a minute and let the people talk. She's just trying to get a rise out of you. Show some of that discipline I know you've got."
Bob: "Well now, we won't know until we hear it, now will we? I can already tell it's gonna be a good tale though, on account of your wearing a tin can."
Dianysia: D - "Let them. What's it to you? I'm captured because you led us to that spot. Get over it."
Dianysia: watches Tris, hoping he doesn't give too much of it away, knowing that this may well be a set up.
Tristanu: "Ok then...forgive me if I use terms you may not know...we were somehow transported to this reality from our own, a place known as Bit. We were in the process of tracking down a superweapon artifact and had a run-in with a powerful dark elf mage. After the combat was finished, we found ourselves here"
Dianysia gives no reaction to what he says.
Reese: G- "Oh for shits sake, get one of the dumber goblins out here, we need a translator."
Dianysia: "What did she say?"
Dianysia: D- "Well, we can't talk to them, they can't talk to us... so we're doing a hell of a lot of verbal not talking."
Bob scratches his head. "You're right, I only caught about one word in four. Tranny-whosit, reali-jigger, I don't know the term "superweapon" but I gather it's some kinda fancy gun... don't know what kinda gun an artsy-thingie is... and I ain't never heard of an elf, light dark or otherwise... OR what a 'mage' might be."
Dianysia: D- "But we can't. And only I can talk to you..... why don't I translate to you and you to them?"
Tristanu sighs "This is going to be difficult"
DM: ((okay - for the sake of simplicity - assume that UNLESS someone specifies otherwise, Dia/Beth is making a translation happen))
Dianysia: "May as well tell him an elf is NOT an orc.
Tristanu: "ok...spare a moment for me to explain then...we come from a different place. yes. But we believe that the place we come from and the place we are in now are the same place, just a different time"
Bob: "Well now. I still don't get this whole 'elf' thing, or 'mage' bit... but it sounds like you got yourself in one heck of a problem there, son. I gotta admit, my first suspicion would be to say it's a load of hogwash... but then again, I ain't never seen a big chunk of bedrock appear out of nowhere before, either."
Dianysia pulls back her hair, showing her ears. "Elf."
Bob: "What, so you ain't just some mutated human what survived culling?" Bob grins at Dia. "I figured out that your 'elf' whatevers ain't from around here, ain't nothing we've ever seen before. Don't mean I get what you really is, though."
Tristanu casts Daylight on one of the room lamps. "Magic...a magic user is called a mage"
Dianysia obviously wants to comment on Bob's words, but bites her tongue, suddenly remembering the "carrying" concept.
Bob blinks at the sudden light, before shrugging. "So it's something liek one of them priests what set up in the cities, trying to win people for their patrons, then?"
Tristanu: "Not exactly"
Tristanu: "What a mage uses and what a priest uses are two different things...a priest can heal and do good things through their faith...mages can bring down balls of fire and destroy"
Reese: O- "Didn't I tell you them religious types are fracking annoying?"
Dianysia casts prestidiigitation, using it alone to open a pouch and use it.
Reese: "Enough showing off, we get the point, you are special..." Reese says.
Tristanu: "And can move things as you can see"
Bob: "Huh. So it's kinda like a cross 'tween them priests and the Church psions. Interesting. And you say y'all got a lot of them wherever it is you come from?"
Tristanu: "A good amount...yes"
Dianysia: "As many as you've got noisy metal tossers."
Tristanu snickers
Reese: "I doubt that, but you can believe that if you will."
Reese: Turning towards Bob, "Mind if we skip to the part where they squished Kam?"
Dianysia: "Is Kam a bug? They keep saying squish."
Bob: "All right, all right. Settle down. So let's say for now that I do believe you. You got no clue where you are, or what's going on. It's still hard to believe, but I don't see any better explanations. The problem is this. However you got your hunk of rock here... it's right where we were supposed to meet one of our men... Kam. Good kid, a little overeager sometimes. You can see how we can get a little suspicious, what with y'all where he should have been."
Dianysia: "Is Kam a spider? If so, I'd definitely squish
Dianysia: "So he was supposed to be at the temple or where you kidnapped us?"
Tristanu: "We found nobody except for a patrol or two in the distance when we emerged from the rock))
Dianysia: "And you're supposed to be inhabitable forest."
Bob: "And that's the problem. See, where your rock is now, used to be this nice little grassy hollow, with some interesting sound properties, makes it REALLY easy to hear if anyone's trying to sneak up on you while still letting you talk without being heard... makes a great meeting place... Kam was supposed to be waiting for us there, but when we arrived you were there instead, just coming out."
Reese: Reese looks over at
Tristanu whispers to Dianysia. "Sounds like that location may have had magical properties before we got there"
Dianysia turns and stands. "You guys have been following us since then?"
Tristanu looks to have suddenly had an idea. "Dian...what happened to the artifact?"
Dianysia I don't know, why?
Bob shrugs. "Of course. My guy goes missing, you show up... why do you think Reese don't like you? She's convinced you had something to do with it."
Tristanu: "Well she can believe what she wants...but we had nothing to do with it...our only goal is to return to the place we came from"
Bob: "Me, I like to believe in people. So if you say you're on the level, I'll go with it for now. But that still leaves me with a missing man, who was out doing some valuable scouting."
Tristanu: "We should return to the temple...um...rock...then"
Dianysia: "I hope Swift is okay," Dia says gently, petting Jayde.
Reese: "Well, you know Bob, since they killed Kam, and they are so bent on being innocent, lets give them a chance. See if they can't repeat Kam's mission. We lose them, no big loss."
Dianysia: "Do your own dirty work. I don't care what you think, you cowards. This could have been solved yesterday, but you were busy playing fruitcake."
Dianysia: "I don't care for being stalked, and I really don't care for you."
Tristanu whispers to Dian. "I need to go back to the temple and find the artifact...I have reason to believe that it is what brought us here"
Dianysia: "There's no guarantee we'll even know the artifact if we saw it."
Reese: "Agree we should of shot them yesterday yet?"
Dianysia: "Go shoot yourself, Reese. Put everyone else out of their misery.
Tristanu: "Still...we HAVE to try"
Bob: "Not sure I agree with where you're comin from there Reese, but you might be on to something." Bob turns back to the rest of you. "Here's the way I see it. You need to figure out how you got here, and how to get back to wherever you came from. I need to find out what happened to Kam, and if he's MIA, I need to get that info he was after. So what say we see if we can help each other, eh? You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours."
Tristanu: "Please Bob...indulge us to return to the temple...with your company of course...we both seem to have questions to be answered there"
Dianysia: "I don't want you scratching anything. I couldn't care less about your Kam."
Reese: Pulls her pistol out and sets it on the table, and glares at Dianysia.
Tristanu shoots Dian a look. "It is time to be quiet"
Bob puts a hand over Reese's. "Easy, Reese. She's obviously upset, and has a right to be. She don't know how things is in the real world."
Dianysia: "It was time to be quiet when we volunteered for the stupid mission to find the artifact... at least it's not a danger to Bit anymore.:
Reese: "Well she needs to learn fast, most people on this continet would of already been stuffing her butchored remains into a pot."
Tristanu: "Enough of the childishness! Still your tounge before you get us killed!" *Glares at Dian and Reese*
Reese: G- "Metal man has a pair doesn't he?" Reese says, then laughs a bit.
Bob: "So it's a good thing we found 'em first. But still, I think maybe they can help us. It's obvious they know more about that hunk of rock than we do, whether or not they've telling us the whole story."
Dianysia glares back.
Tristanu: "Now...I am all for us working together Bob...let's go get some answers"
Dianysia: "I am all for getting home. I have a few suggestions for Bob and Resse, but I'll not say them in case they could be translated.
Bob faces Dia, smiling slightly. "Look, princess... look around you. You're in the middle of the biggest battlefield known to man, orc, hobgoblin, goblin, and probably WHATEVER you are too. We don't have time to play nice and be all 'how d'you do ma'am' when we come across the unknown out there. In this place, every unknown is a potential hostile. Be glad we just watched you, instead of taking the shot when we had it like Reese wanted to. You can claim all the niceities you want when you're in the city... but out here, it's survival of the fittest. You don't learn that quick, and learn to take allies where you can get 'em... you're not gonna last long, no matter how many of these 'mage' powers you got up your sleeve."
Tristanu shifts slightly and clears his throat, motioning that he would like a response from Bob.
Dianysia: "You know, you I can stand. It's her that I can't... She's a coward who cares only for getting her load off. And be sure to translate that properly, Beth."
Dianysia: "Out of respect for Tristanu, however... I will go along with this, at least until we can get home and unsquish Kam."
Dianysia: "Truce?"
Bob motions to Trist that he heard, he's just got to deal with this first. "Let me ask you something. Your pal here in the tin can, he's supposed to meet you somewhere with vital info you need to stay alive, and when the time comes, we're standing around with weapons drawn and your buddy nowhere in sight... you gonna tell me you're not gonna be a little hostile at us?"
Reese: Bolts up out of her seat, pistol in hand, "Look bitch, I have been fighting out here for more then ten years, fighting to free and liberate more people then you will ever be able to count, lost more friends then you will know, and have fought in battles I should not of been able to sruvive. So before you get all high and mighty about who you call a coward, think a moment. I will not give you a second chance to even imply that I am a coward."
Tristanu Violently erupts from his seat kicking the chair out behind him, sending it smashing against the wall. He slams his fists down on the table as hard as he can (Might need to troll to see if it breaks)) and speaks VERY loud and Angrily. "STOP THIS NONSENSE! WE ARE BOTH TRYING TO FIND ANSWERS HERE AND THIS IS NOT HELPING ONE BIT! i TRIED BEING NICE BUT NOW IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO BE QUIET!"
